BikeExchange Signs Partnership with Top US e-Mobility Firm

Miami, US

Melbourne-based online retailer BikeExchange has boosted its presence in the e-mobility market by signing a partnership with US company Simply EV.

The Simply EV chain of more than 50 stores and e-commerce sells a range of e-bikes, e-scooters, electric motorcycles, e-marine and accessories.

It is part of Revolution Brands International and stocks one of Revolution’s key brands, “sustainable lifestyle” brand Kimoa, founded and still part-owned by two-time Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso.

A statement from BikeExchange said the partnership would initially focus on bringing all of Revolution Brand’s in-house products onto BikeExchange’s online sales platform, as well as additional brands distributed and sold by the Miami-based company.

Its in-house brands include Kimoa, Smash Technologies, House of Lithium and Minimotors.
Brands sold by Simply EV also include Segway, GoPro, POC, Switch Motorcycles and Trevor Motorcycles.

The BikeExchange partnership will also leverage the company’s recently-purchased specialist bike delivery service in the US, Kitzuma.

“This will be an important addition, given the journey, assembly and servicing of e-bikes can be a key difficulty in the customer journey,” BikeExchange global CEO Mark Watkins said.

He says the partnership gave the company access to a leading e-mobility retailer, provides further opportunities for Kitzuma and elevates BikeExchange’s presence in the large US market.

“Beyond this, the partnership highlights the growing demand and potential for the e-mobility and micromobility sector beyond bikes and scooters to electric motorcycles,” he added.
