Merida and Orbea Confirmed for Micromobility Expo

Exhibitor confirmations for the 2022 Micromobility Conference & Expo have reached a crescendo, with Australia’s largest bicycle company, Advance Traders Australia, Melbourne distributor BikeBox and surf and lifestyle brand Ben Buckler Boards signing up to be part of the expo.

Brisbane-based wholesaler Advance Traders Australia will have a selection of its e-bike brands on display: Merida, Norco, Moov8 and VeletriX.

It will showcase the Merida eSpresso’s super low step-through ENERGY CRADEL frame, as well as the brand’s eSilex+ 600 lightweight gravel bike.

They will be on display alongside Moov8’s new C1 Cargo Bike, its lighter weight MAG20 magnesium frame and VeletriX’s new arrivals for 2023, including a premium belt-drive cargo bike, Butcher e-Fat bike and new hardtail MTB.

It will have all four brands available to ride on the test track.

Orbea’s Gain e-bike technology will be on display at the BikeBox stand, which the Melbourne distributor is running in association with Sydney Electric Bikes.

They will join a number of wholesalers, including Pon.Bike (Focus and Kalkoff), PSI Cycling (ABUS, Cannondale, GT Bicycles and Schwinn), The Electric Bicycle Co (TEBCO), Bikecorp (DYU, Shogun and Azur), Hillbrick Bicycles (Body Bike, Fiji and Orbea), Dutch Cargo (O2Feel, Tern and Urban Arrow) and TMO Sports (Continental, Deuter, Finish Line, Lei, Serfas, White Lightning).

They will sit alongside a number of other brands displaying their latest offerings, including Specialized, Brompton Bicycle Australia, Smartmotion, Bolzzen (also Blitzz), Leon Cycle (also ET.CYCLE and NCM), Earth, Rilu, Ordica and Belzina Zero (e-mopeds).

The inaugural Micromobility Conference & Expo has attracted a total of more than 40 exhibitors, including manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, bike and scooter share service and subscription providers, bike industry training providers, technology and data gathering services, government and non-government organisations.

The variety of emerging e-mobility vehicles will be highlighted by the involvement of Ben Buckler Boards, a leading Sydney-based retailer of e-skateboards, onewheel boards, cycleboards and apparel, as well as Super73 e-bikes.

Retailer Omafiets will feature e-bikes from Riese & Muller, joined by Bikes Online, and scooter retailer Sydney E-Scoot (Vsett, Sunhon, Dualtron, Bexly, Speedway and PXID).

Bike accessories companies Steadyrack, Project Flock (Flock Light) and Emicro (also Bikeep) will also be part of the expo.

The bike subscription sector will be represented by conference gold sponsor Lug+Carrie and Zoomo, alongside bike share services BYKKO and Airbike, while three leading scooter share service providers, conference Beam Mobility (another gold sponsor of the conference), Neuron Mobility and Lime will also be attending.

A Transport for NSW stand will highlight the department’s initiatives for active and sustainable transport, with the NSW Government supporting the conference as a partner. Transport for NSW is also providing presenters at the conference.

Several non-government organisations will also be promoting their activities: Electric Riders Australia, Rail Trails Australia, World Bicycle Relief AU, Better Streets and Bicycle NSW.

Ride Report, Vivacity Labs, Portugal Bike Value and Metrocount will turn the spotlight on their technology and software services.

5 Star Training will be raising awareness of its Bicycle Mechanic Training Institute (BMTI).
