Bosch Smart System Tweaks for Enhanced Flexibility
Stuttgart, Germany
Greater flexibility in lock activation and more opportunities to customise displays and drive modes are among Bosch’s tweaks of its Smart System for the 2024 season.
Updates by Bosch eBike Systems to its eBike Flow App will allow riders to use their Bosch Kiox 300 and Kiox 500 displays to turn their bike’s digital bike lock on and off, as an alternative to using their smartphone.
While it will bring added convenience for individual owners, it will be particularly helpful if a bike is shared by multiple users. The locking instruction will no longer be connected to a single smartphone and several digital keys can be allocated and deleted as required.
Owners will also be able to disable the command that automatically unlocks the bike if their smartphone passes within a certain distance of the bike.
In addition, users will also be able to use the updated app to customise their Kiox 300 and Kniox 500 displays, to show up to three screens at the same time, or further modify the rider assistance from the e-bike motor to suit their riding style.
The update announcements were accompanied by news Bosch is introducing a Flow+ premium version of the Smart System and app, which includes a premium-bike alarm service and will initially cost A$5.99 per month or $59.99 for an annual subscription.
