Free e-bike loans are available to residents in five UK regions, in a new Cycling UK initiative to encourage more people to take up e-mobility.

The Cycling made e-asy scheme – funded by the Department for Transport and run by Cycling UK and partners – provides free access to try and ride sessions or long-term e-cycles loans.

“You’ll be unstoppable once you’ve discovered an e-cycle,” the scheme’s promotion promises.

“That’s why we’ve made it easy and free for you to access an electric cycle. Short journeys will never be the same again.”

Pilot programs for Cycling made e-asy have been launched in Greater Manchester, Leicester, Luton & Dunstable, Hull and Sheffield.

They include a wide range of electric cycles, including adapted e-cycles, folding e-bicycles and cargo bikes, to encourage residents to make e-cycling a regular part of their daily lives.

The program is open to people over the age of 16 and incorporates events and training at each of the e-hubs.
